What I work on: ELA/Literacy and Organization Design

Why I work here: I love the idea of designing solutions that have broad reach and potential for adaptation that meets the needs of educators and students wherever they are.

My Education and Experience: With a background in English language arts/literacy, professional development, and curriculum, I have created and curated online curriculum resources for educators, led professional development in literacy for instructional leaders, and coordinated teams of researchers and teachers. I have supported grades K-12 as well as adult education within schools, districts, states, and professional organizations in service of improving teachers’ content knowledge and classroom effectiveness while implementing college- and career-readiness standards.  I spent many years as a classroom teacher and premier literacy coach for the New York City Department of Education, the Archdiocese of New York, and several nationally recognized charter school organizations before becomming an Executive Vice President at Student Achievement Partners. Most recently I joined Reconstruction as the VP of Curriculum. I also currently serve as a nationally certified coach for the U.S. Department of Education Office of Career and Technical Adult Education. I have a BS in Mathematics and Elementary Education from Eastern Michigan University.

More about me: I’m a proud mom, wife, sister, daughter, first-generation Haitian-American life-long educator.

A quote that inspires me: “Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things and I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”

The perspective I bring to the Board:  I’ve been a part of the SAP team for 8 years, and I’m honored to bring the historical context of where we’ve been and excited to share by perspective as Black educator to our work going forward.
