This lesson includes scaffolded analytical writing tasks that provide examples for teaching Common Core writing.

This story of friendship between a pig and a spider, tells how Wilbur first meets Charlotte and learns that he will be killed for food in the winter.  Charlotte becomes Wilbur’s friend, and saves his life. (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Collections, 2001) Please note: This lesson is based on "Charlotte's Web" the play, by Joseph Ronbinette, an adaptation based on the classic novel, Charlotte's Web, by E.B. White.
