This poem, written in a voice of a child, addresses the fears a child faces when starting at a new school and/or being placed in a new classroom. The narrator presents a fearless attitude when she speaks of common childhood fears, but this bravado is only a mask she uses to try and hide her trues fears of being different and feeling alone.
