Materials Alignment Toolkit

A suite of tools for evaluating the alignment of instructional and assessment materials to the Shifts and major features of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), the Materials Alignment Toolkit was developed in partnership with Achieve and the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO).

Each tool evaluates a different type of material:

  • A comprehensive textbook or textbook series (IMET)
  • Lessons or units (EQuIP Rubric)
  • Grade or course-level assessments (AET)
  • Assessment passages and assessment items or tasks (Checklists)
