Christina Suarez

Having earned her Masters in Education at the University of Vermont, Christina Suarez began teaching Social Studies at Lake Region Union High School in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom ten years ago. She has been leading Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) at the local, district, and administrative level for the past five years. Working with Student Achievement Partners to implement the Common Core through PLCs, her school has risen to become one of the top achieving schools in the state. She is now beginning to lead PD throughout the state of Vermont and is looking forward to working with the Smarter Balanced Digital Library project.

Christina is a Core Advocate. Core Advocates are educators from across the country who work closely with Student Achievement Partners to develop, curate, and review CCSS resources for teachers and who are eager to support their colleagues in understanding and owning the standards as part of their practice.
