Dr. Melissa Collins has been an elementary National Board Certified Teacher at John P. Freeman Optional School in Memphis, Tennessee, for 21 years, where she is constantly amazed by her students’ curiosity about the world around them. She is an expert in teacher leadership and voice, and she is an advocate for global learning, STEM education, and high standards. Melissa was part of the inaugural Core Advocate Network to ensure teachers have a voice in guaranteeing equity for all students. It has always been her goal for students to receive a high-quality education regardless of their zip code. Melissa loves spending time with her son (Devon), family, friends, and her Masons’ sister circle.
