Core Advocates are educators who hold all different roles, come from different communities, and areas of expertise, and are united around a few key principles. All Core Advocates:
- Believe in the potential of high quality standards grounded in evidence to prepare all students for college and careers;
- Understand and embrace the Shifts in instruction and assessment required by college- and career-ready standards;
- Commit to centering the needs of historically underserved students - including students facing barriers of racism and poverty - in the work of providing equitable instruction;
- Are eager to shift their personal practice and to influence shifts in practice in their schools and school systems.
Student Achievement Partners hosts monthly webinars featuring Core Advocates speaking about their experiences implementing college- and career-ready standards. Core Advocates also receive Core Connections: Excellence and Equity in Education, a quarterly magazine featuring free resources, professional learning content, educator perspectives, and more.
