Communications, Marketing, and Amplification Manager

What I Work On: As the Communications, Marketing, and Amplification  Manager, my job is to connect educators to one another and to resources that help them do their best work. I lead our communications strategy, designing ways for professional learning opportunities, classroom materials, research, and more to make their way to teachers and those that support them. My work involves our website, email, social media presence, blog--as well as discovering new mediums for communication--most of which are recommended by teachers themselves!

Why I Work Here: Our education system doesn’t serve all children equally well. I work here because this organization is committed to learning (not just hypothesizing) why this is and how we can do better. We take action based on evidence (research as well as lived experience) that addresses not only academics, but also systemic issues of racism and bias that are proven barriers to learning. I loved my school experience--I felt confident, curious, and safe in the classroom. I work here so that every student can one day say the same!

My Education and Experience: Prior to joining Student Achievement Partners, I worked in communications for the American Red Cross. I also taught middle school reading as part of an intervention program in several schools across north London. I hold a Bachelors degree in Public Policy from Duke University and a Masters degree in Social Policy and Planning from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

More About Me: I’ve worked at Student Achievement Partners since 2014. I live in Media, Pennsylvania with my husband T.J. and daughter Lilly. When I’m not working I can be found trundling along behind a running stroller, daydreaming about travel, and unearthing free and cheap things to do in my community!

A Quote That Inspires Me: "Don't ever make decisions based on fear. Make decisions based on hope and possibility. Make decisions based on what should happen, not what shouldn't." ―  Michelle Obama
