Authorship and Attribution on Achieve the Core
Since its inception, Student Achievement Partners has sought to make as many resources as possible free and open for use with as few restrictions as possible. The founders of the organization believed that it was critically important for anyone involved in designing education for students to be able to see, use, and emulate examples of high-quality, standards-aligned classroom resources and support for educators. As an organization we had a principle of not attributing work we authored or co-authored - except in very rare circumstances (primarily research and white papers) - to encourage free use, remixing, customization, and (local) ownership.
While we still aspire to offer freely accessible content and encourage use and customization, our learning and growth over the last few years has helped us to understand that the impact of not systematically naming authors and key contributors was not giving due credit to those who lent their time and intellectual prowess to the work products on our site. Our brilliant team members authored, contributed, and collaborated on the majority of the work on the site – as did a large number of educators, scholars, and partners. Going forward we are making efforts to acknowledge the significant contributions of our team members, our co-designers, and those who collaborate with us.
If you worked on something that is currently on the site and wish to be acknowledged, please reach out to info@studentsachieve.net.
