About this Lesson

 In this lesson, fourth grade students revisit a grade-level, historical fiction anchor text about the Apollo 11 moon landing. Students address text-based vocabulary, read a new text to build additional knowledge about Apollo 11, draw connections between texts through collaborative group work, closely reread a relevant section of the anchor text, and complete a text-based writing task. The anchor text used in this lesson is “A Moon Over Star” by Dianna Hutts Aston and is included in the Literature Anthology of the Wonders curriculum used by this teacher.
