In this webinar, participants will hear from four literacy experts as they discuss what it means to apply “the science of reading” to an actual reading program. In January 2020, seven researchers (including three you’ll hear from tonight) reviewed Teachers College Units of Study to understand how the content and practices within the program align with the latest research. They’ll discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the program, how they conducted the reviews, and what this means for students, teachers, and decision makers. This webinar is a must-watch for anyone using or considering Units of Study, as well as anyone wanting to better understand how to use reading research in the instructional materials selection process.

This webinar offers a certificate verifying professional learning time on the topic. To receive this certificate, select the “Access On-Demand” option and complete the webinar as a registered participant.

This learning experience will be most powerful if used as part of a comprehensive, ongoing program of content-specific professional learning. To learn more, see the Professional Learning Principles.
